The End?
on 24/02/2008 - like it?

“After ceasing film camera production last year, Polaroid Corporation quietly revealed earlier this month that it would stop producing its instant film this spring to focus on the digital market.”

This sucks. Sign the petition to help save instant film. It still has many practical uses, in addition to it’s art.

How to steal from Wal-Mart
on 13/06/2007 - like it?

And Get away with it.

The AP published an article on the rising shrinkage (theft) rate of the evil corporation today.

Like a blatant invitation to steal, the article says:

“The new policy seeks prosecutions of first-time offenders only if they are between ages 18 to 65 and steal at least $25 worth of merchandise.”

Need a pack of batteries? A Gallon of Milk? Take it. IF you get caught, pay for it. IF you don’t, it’s free. Atleast you wont go to prison. It’s company policy. Stick it to the man.

45 Days in Paris
on 08/06/2007 - like it?

I really despise all those celebrity tabloid shows and magazines. I could care less who is dating who or why Jessica Simpson was at a night club with some young male celebrity. Not to say all celebrities have their right to ultimate privacy… I just personally don’t give a fuck about the personal lives.

The only time I ever came close to paying attention to a celebrity was when my old college chum Jason was nearly sued by Lindsay Lohan’s lawyers for ownership of www.lindsaylohansextape.com (that’s another story for another day)

But I was ecstatic to read that Paris Hilton got sent back to jail to serve the rest of her sentence.

She really thought that she was above the law when she violated her probation, and was laughing all the way back to her mansion when she was released on “House Arrest” (which would seem like a vacation for the rest of us)

I hope the time behind bars helps the spoiled princess to realize that there are consequinces for her actions no matter how who your father is, or high-priced your lawyers are.

Millitary blocks MySpace and YouTube
on 15/05/2007 - like it?

Citing security and technology limitations, the military has now blocked the use of MySpace, youTube, and 11 other websites when using the DOD computer network that soldiers are provided in Iraq.

Pretty fucked up if you ask me. I understand their fear of possible viruses and concerns that sensitive data may be passed on. But these Soldiers are well trained. They know what they can and can not say. And do they want me to believe that they do not have a method of protection against phishing and viruses? Our 21st century military can create smart bombs but can’t provide absolute protection from some spyware? I call bullshit.

They say the soldiers will still be able to access the sites from any internet cafe during their free time; they just can not use the DOD network that they provide SPECIFFICALLY for the soldiers to communicate with friends and family back home?

Search google and read soldiers MySpace blog or Video Journal on youtube. These sites provide a means of what is almost a psychological release for our soldiers. They need that. It’s the least we can do for them.

Come up with a compromise, government. You have these young men doing the country a great favor. You owe it to them.

Disney is blowing smoke.
on 04/05/2007 - like it?

Effective June 1st, Walt Disney World will ban smoking in all their hotels, and limit it to “designated areas” across the resort.

The ban also applies to all Patios, Balconies, and Walkways.

They say the new rule is being put in place due to “ovewhelming customer demand”.

Which is kind of funny, because when we took our trip in september, we got a non-smoking room because all the smoking rooms were full. I believe that I was even told it was “O.K.” to smoke in the room, and a cast memeber would bring up ash trays.

I did not smoke in the room, however. I just went outside on the deck and had a quick smoke when no one was around.

This rule, if not laxed, could very well be a deciding factor in where we stay during our next trip.

I do understand the need for a smoke-free room. the smell and residue can really have an adverse effect on some people. That I agree with.

But please tell me how someone smoking outside on a balcony at 8pm in the evening, when everyone is either at the park or asleep, pose a helth risk on anyone but the smoker?
