Longing

Even more than a year after Joshua’s first family trip to Disney World, he still talks about it endlessly. Every time he walks by the photo collage of our trip that hangs in the living room, he will talk about every detail for the next hour.

So I’ve decided that it’s time to go back. Time to go before he reaches an age where going to Florida would be fun, but he would see no need for his Mom and Dad to tag along.

The tentative date is some time in October of 2008 for Mickey’s Halloween festivities. You all should know how much “we” love Halloween in this family.

So it’s time to start scrimping and saving. All my family and friends who sent us a Check or Cash for Christmas, no matter how much, can be assured that the money has been tucked away in our Vacation savings . You now know where that money will go, and how happy it will make Joshua.

I swear, Joshua has never smiled like he did when he had breakfast with Mickey and Stitch.

To do this trip to the nines, according to my calculations, I have tuck about $3,000 more under my mattress in a little under 10 months to reach my goal amount. No sweat. Thank God for Income Tax returns and overtime.

Devil Boy

I bought Joshua this new wool cap from The Salisbury Pharmacy.

It’s made by Delux. Browse their catalogue. Many of the styles of novelty hats and gloves on the website are for sale at the pharmacy.

This one is a Devil Horns with cool devil tail tassels.

You know you want to buy one.

There is a new video game commercial on the air that uses “The Final Countdown” by 1980’s “Glam Metal” band Europe as it’s soundtrack.

When the commercial was over, Joshua said “I like that song.”

I took a quick look on YouTube and uncovered the original music video so Joshua could hear the whole thing.

Then he actually looked at the video.

“I didn’t know a girl sang this song.”

“No Josh, that’s a dude.”

“Then why is he wearing lipstick?”

“That’s what guys looked like in the 80’s”

He didn’t believe me. We spent the next 15 minutes watching videos from such bands as Cinderella, Def Leppard, and Mötley Crüe.

“Ok. I don’t want to watch these videos of guys dressed like girls anymore.”

Another addition in a series of Christmas Posts, here is a video I took of the Tree Lighting ceremony in Wassaic. Me and Josh went. Santa was there, there was Hot Coca and Christmas carols. Fun Fun Fun.

Joshua is bit of a Mad Scientist. He like to do experiments (in his own 6 year old way) on what kind of liquids will freeze, how long it takes, and other stuff like that.

He tried that this week, placing the liquid in the freezer, and added another variable in the experiment: Turning the freezer’s temperature gauge way up.

He did not realize that the dial he turned to 10 was not for the freezer, but for the refrigerator.

And when Melissa went to prepare the Feather Bed Eggs for the next morning’s breakfast, all the eggs in the carton were frozen.

Have you ever tried to crack open a frozen egg? What is inside…. is not pretty.
