Yet agian, Twitter has delivered me breaking news before any other source.

When United 1549 went down in the Hudson, my twitter exploded. What started as a few tweets were retweeted and tweeted again until they reached nearly every twitter user on-line at the time. They are the ones who take the first photos of the news from the cell phones and post it for the world to experience first hand.

Another example occurred on December 20th 2007, when Continental Flight 1404 went off the runway. Twitter user @2drinksbehind was the first to tweet of the accident. Followers of that user learned of the incident before any major media outlet.

While we still need our CNN or New York Times to give the full story, Twitter has a hand in alerting the public. Twitter has the potential alert the public to emergencies, disasters, and breaking news. It’s not just another internet fad.

twittering recently about comcast coming to my place, only to find that the electrician had not done his job (so comcast dude could not do his either) and only to be without cable for another week…. someone from Comcast was listening.

The twitter user @comcastcares found my post, replied asking for more info via e-mail, and now my new service appointment was bumpped up from a week… to 2 days.

Twitter is where it’s at.

As most of you know, In addition to being everyone’s “Computer Guy” I am also a Certified Pharmacy Technician. It pays the bills inbetween projects.

After passing the exam conducted by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, you were signed up on their website to use functions like keeping a total record of your required Continuing Education credits, and a buliten board that put you in connection with all of the CPhT’s across the country.

When they redesigned their website, the boards were left out. That’s what I Launched CPhTlink.com. The front is a weblog where I post pharmacy news and free CE lessons. Then there is the Forum which is intended to offer an alternative to the missing boards on the old site.

I launched February 20th, and the forum now has over 20 active members. Not too bad for such a small niche market, and very little marketing.

I’ve got a new theme up for the rebirth of Digitalpretzel.com. I am still tweaking this one to make it look less like a downloaded template, and more like something of my own. We’ll see how it goes.

All the posts were lost when I switched webhosts. I thought I backed up the Database correctly, but I was wrong. I was able to save all the images, however.

So here comes another year of posts and pictures. To those who actually read this anyway.

For some reason, the database backup on WP failed me. I may have been able to back up the entire database over at DOTEasy, but now I should work on sorting through what is what on the database, as not to overwrite anything on the current server.

I saved my theme and plugins and files, but all entries, links, categories, etc. are all lost.

that sucks.
